Living and ageing well in Perth and Kinross
Overview
We all want to live well as we get older. Whether that means staying active, remaining independent, staying connected to your community, or getting the right support at the right time, everyone's experience of ageing is different.
Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership is developing a new Living and Ageing Well Strategy to help people live healthy, independent and connected lives as they age.
The strategy focuses on people aged 50 years and over, recognising that ageing well begins long before old age. We also want to hear from family members, unpaid carers, staff, community groups and anyone with an interest in supporting people to live well as they get older.
Over the past year, we have spoken with local people, community groups, staff and partner organisations about what helps people age well and the challenges they can face. These conversations have helped us identify seven proposed priorities for the strategy. We are now seeking your views to make sure these priorities reflect what matters most to people in Perth and Kinross.
Why this matters
By 2036, the number of older people in Perth and Kinross is expected to increase significantly. People are living longer and often healthier lives, but there will be growing demand for housing, support, health and care services, community connections and opportunities to remain active and independent.
This strategy aims to ensure Perth and Kinross is a place where people can remain healthy, independent and connected for as long as possible, while receiving the right support when they need it.
What we would like your views on
This survey will help us understand:
- whether the proposed priorities focus on the right things
- what helps people live well as they get older
- the challenges and barriers people face
- what services, support or community opportunities would make the biggest difference
- how organisations and communities can work together more effectively
- what actions should be prioritised over the next ten years
There are no right or wrong answers. We want to hear about your experiences, ideas and suggestions.
Have your say
The survey should take around 10 - 15 minutes to complete.
Thank you for taking the time to share your views. Your feedback will help shape the future of living and ageing well in Perth and Kinross.
Consultation drop-in events
A series of public drop-in events will also be held during the consultation so that we can speak to people face-to-face. Come along to tell us:
- what matters most to you as you get older
- what is working well in your community
- what could be improved
- what should be included in the new strategy
Whether you are an older person, a carer, a family member, a volunteer, a member of staff or simply someone with an interest in ageing well, we would like to hear your views at one of the events:
