Advocacy Provisions in Perth and Kinross
Overview
Have you been referred to advocacy, or had an advocate? If yes, we want to hear from you!
This consultation will help our Health and Social Care Partnership understand the advantages of advocacy, along with any challenges.
Your contribution will inform our advocacy plan, which helps shape how services are planned and delivered thoughout Perth and Kinross.
Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership aims to improve opportunities for everyone in our communities to have their voices heard.
Advocacy means getting support from another person to help you express your views and wishes and stand up for your rights. Advocates are separate to your social worker, support worker or health worker. We would love to hear your experience of advocacy so we can continue to support this service and help make it easier and better for those who benefit from help having their voice heard.
Why your views matter
This consultation is underway to inform the new Advocacy Strategy. It is focused on Independent Advocacy, and Advocacy Support. The agencies in Perth and Kinross that provide this include:
- Independent Advocacy
- RASAC
- Women’s Aid
- Deaflinks
We are keen to hear from people who have been referred to advocacy. A questionnaire is available at the bottom of this page and asks about whether having advocate support helped you to feel included; and if you think it helped to have your views heard.
When you complete and submit the questionnaire it will be sent straight to the Health and Social Care Partnership (not your advocacy agency), and will be anonymous. Please don’t include any personal details which would reveal your identity. If we think there is anything in your response which could identify you, we will delete it.
You can save your response and return to complete at anytime until the consultation closing date. To do this you wil need to input your e-mail address but this will not be disclosed or used for any other purpose.
The results of our findings will be included in the advocacy strategy and available to view on the Perth and Kinross Council website and on this page.
We are also consulting referring teams and services.
