We asked

Do you agree with the minor proposed changes to the Landscape Supplementary Guidance.

You said

  • Consider areas in Kinross-shire for designation
  • Update the forces for change section
  • Review Ochil Hills text

We did

Careful consideration was made to the suggestions proposed with updates made to forces for change and in the Ochil Hills text. The Council decided not to designate the Kinross-shire features at this stage.

The Landscape Supplementary Guidance was approved by the Council's Strategic Policy and Resources Committee on the 29 January 2020 and submitted to Scottish Ministers for consideration on 3 February 2020. Following the necessary adoption procedures, the Supplementary Guidance has now been formally adopted by the Council.

Results updated 15 Jul 2021

The final guidance was adopted on 29 January 2020. See Item 7 of the Strategic Policy and Resources Committee agenda for detail of the results of the consultation.

Overview

The Landscape Supplementary Guidance provides detailed guidance on the application of Policy 39: Landscape in the proposed Local Development Plan 2 (LDP2) and in particular the final paragraph of the policy. This paragraph details how applicants are expected to address Local Landscape Area designations.

The Guidance is aimed at assisting developers, decision makers and those preparing or commenting on planning applications. It covers a general recognition of the value of landscape to Perth & Kinross and how applications affecting wildness and Wild Land Areas will be addressed. Primarily the Guidance details each Local Landscape Area and the special qualities which applications affecting these areas are expected to address. The original version of this guidance was the result of a detailed professional study and adopted in 2015. The Guidance is considered to continue to be relevant and there have been no significant changes other than to reflect changes in references and policy wording in the proposed LDP 2.
