Results were reported to full Council on 20th February 2019 and fed into the process to decide on the Council’s budget for 2019/20 and beyond.
Like all local authorities we are preparing for very significant financial challenges which lie ahead with budgets remaining tight. For 2019/20 the challenge is at an unprecedented level in Perth and Kinross. The Council faces a funding shortfall of £28m in total. Our strong record of prudent financial management has allowed us to protect services for the most part from large-scale reductions. However, we continue to see increasing demand for services which places additional pressures upon us to deliver while managing reducing budgets. Your views will help us make informed decisions on these issues which reflect the priorities identified by our communities.
To help us make informed decisions, we need to ask for your opinions on how we could make savings as budgets tighten. Please tell us how you feel about different service areas, how you would make savings from the Council budget, change Council Tax and share any ideas you have for helping the Council generate additional income to offset the savings required.
