Review of Parliamentary Polling Districts and Polling Places
Overview
Parliamentary polling districts and polling places set out the arrangements in place in order that all electors may cast their vote. The Council is to undertake a statutory review of these every 5 years. This consultation is open to anyone with an interest.
Why your views matter
The Electoral Administration Act 2006, as amended, introduced a duty on all local authorities in Great Britain to review their polling districts and polling places at least once every five years. The next compulsory review must be started and completed within the period of 16 months that starts 1 October 2023 and completed by 31 January 2025.
This consultation provides members of the public, Perth and Kinross Elected Members, Political Parties, neighbouring local authorities, community councils and local disability groups their opportunity to comment on the proposals for parliamentary polling districts and polling places.
The proposed polling districts and polling places can be downloaded by clicking here (opens in a new tab) or viewed below.
The Election Team welcome suggestions and feedback on the proposals. Once approved by Perth and Kinross Council this will have effect on the electoral registers to be published 1 February 2024.
