Violence against women and girls in Perth and Kinross
Overview
The Perth and Kinross Violence Against Women Partnership is looking to build a better understanding of violence against women and girls (VAWG) in the Perth and Kinross area.
Violence against women and girls includes many forms of abuse and harm. This can include domestic abuse, rape or sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, stalking or harassment, emotional abuse, commercial sexual exploitation, and also harmful practices such as female genital mutilation (FGM), forced marriage, and ‘honour’-based abuse. These issues can affect people of any gender, but women and girls are disproportionately impacted because of gender inequality. We also recognise that men and boys can be affected directly or indirectly.
The consultation is open to anyone aged 16 years or over who wishes to share their views or experiences of VAWG in Perth and Kinross. The consultation is anonymous and is not intended to collect personal information. We ask that you do not include details in open-text responses that could identify you or anyone else.
Any personal information that is provided will be processed in accordance with data protection legislation below and will be deleted six months after the consultation closes.
We would also encourage professionals who support women, children and families in their role to complete our separate consultation.
Some questions include sensitive topics, so please take your time and only answer what you feel comfortable with. If you feel that you would benefit from support related to your experience of VAWG, there is support available from the following organisations:
