Draft Spittalfield Conservation Area Appraisal & Management Plan

Closes 22 Sep 2025

Opened 11 Aug 2025

Overview

Perth & Kinross Council is required by law to protect conservation areas from development which would be detrimental to their character.  A conservation area appraisal for Spittalfield has been prepared as a management tool that identifies the special interest and changing needs of the conservation area.

Why your views matter

The conservation area appraisal is intended to be a guide to the history, architecture and character of the Spittalfield, provide guidance for making sympathetic changes in the area.

As part of the conservation area appraisal, the conservation area boundary was reviewed, and the boundary is proposed to be altered to ensure entire property curtilages are included and proposes two areas for addition to the conservation area boundary. These two proposed areas are the cottages to the north of West Green and cottages along The Green (Vintage Cottage, Waterpump Cottage, Sawmill Cottage and Clover Cottage).

The consultation is aimed at residents and landowners within the conservation area to provide valuable insight into the special character of Spittalfield and the proposed boundary revisions.
