Redevelopment of Glover Street, Perth - public information drop-in event

Overview

Perth and Kinross Council and Capability Scotland are hosting a public information drop-in event on proposals to redevelop the Perth Leisure Pool site, located between Glasgow Road and Glover Street.

The site is currently occupied by the existing Perth Leisure Pool building, a playpark and car parking. Following the agreed relocation of the leisure centre to Thimblerow, the site provides a significant opportunity to deliver much‑needed affordable housing and specialist care accommodation.

This is a great opportunity for people to help shape the future of the Glover Street site and contribute to the creation of a vibrant, inclusive neighbourhood that meets local housing needs and supports some of our most vulnerable citizens.

You can attend at any time during the event. Council officers, Capability Scotland representatives, Anderson Bell Christie architects and the wider design team will be available to present the proposals and answer questions.

Phase 1 will deliver a purpose‑built 60‑bed care facility, with associated staff accommodation and community hub facilities, to the south of the existing Perth Leisure Pool. The leisure pool will remain operational during this phase of development.  Further background information is available for this phase at the Capability Scotland website.

Phase 2 will deliver approximately 100 high-quality affordable homes on the current Perth Leisure Pool site, along with communal and private green spaces. Public open areas will include ‘play on the way’ features with play equipment designed for children and families.

The drop‑in event will allow you to view emerging proposals, ask questions, and provide feedback. We welcome your views and encourage you to attend.

Feedback will be analysed and then a follow-up drop-in event will be organised to discuss how the plans will be taken forward.
