As part of the requirement in the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 we have a duty to include the opinions of the community in the decision process when leasing any property which has Common Good status.
We asked whether or not the café at MacRosty Park pavilion should be leased out to a café operator.

We received 108 responses from 10/01/2024 to 11/02/2024.
There were 101 responses in favour of using the facilities for a café, 3 responses provided other suggestions and 4 responses were not specific.
We did
After considering all of the views, we decided to lease the pavilion facilities to a café operator.

Overview
The aim of the consultation is to gather public views on whether PKC should lease out the MacRosty Park pavilion to a café operator. This is an opportunity to comment on the proposal for a lease to be granted with the following terms:
- The proposed start date is March 2024 or such other date as may be agreed following submission of a report to the Crieff Common Good Committee.
- The lease duration is for a period of 3 years;
- The Tenant will have an option to terminate the lease annually on the anniversary of the date of entry;
- The property will be used for the purpose of a Café;
- The tenant will require to obtain all necessary statutory consents in connection with the proposed use;
- On other normal commercial terms.
Why your views matter
The property proposed to be leased has Common Good status and the Council is consulting as part of the requirement in the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 to capture the opinions of the community in the decision-making process. Please note that the content of any representations made, and the details of the party or parties making such representations, may appear in a publicly available report to the Perth Common Good Fund Committee of the Council.
If, following consideration of any representations received in this consultation, the Council decides to proceed with the proposal, an opportunity to tender for the franchise of the café will be advertised online, and a lease will be granted to the successful applicant as soon as practicable thereafter.

What happens next
