The Proposals

Legion Park Masterplan sketch design.  The play area will have a blue and green recycled rubber mulch surfacing and will be brought towards the centre of the park for improved visibility and to  provide a wider buffer to nearby houses.   Path realignment around play area edge will improve accessibility and create a more welcoming space.  Football goals to be repositioned and pitch length reduced by 5 metres to create a 37 metre long 5-a-side pitch.  Grass mounds and additional trees, plants and bulbs between play area and houses will increase biodiversity, with mown paths for play interest.  New outdoor shelter in northeast corner, with cycle rack and picnic tables in additional hard surfaced area; surface to be self-binding gravel or similar material.  New perimeter path to the east of the park with seating and static exercise equipment trail.  Path along south edge widened for improved accessibility.  Additional tree planting to create a more welcoming park.  Final design and content subject to further site investigations, detailed design process and review, and project funding.

PLAY AREA WORKS SKETCH DESIGN New play area surfacing will have 'Three Rivers' theme inspired by the local landscape. New play equipment will replace the existing items and will include a new Tractor climbing unit surrounded by: New 3 metre high climbing net New 1.8 metre high slide New trampoline New inclusive roundabout New basket swing New swings set with 2 flat seats 2 cradle seats New springies and mini seesaw Final design and content subject to further site investigations, detailed design process and review, and project funding.
