Overview

The Common Housing Register provides a single application process for people looking to access social housing in Perth and Kinross. Partners in the Common Housing Register are Perth & Kinross Council, Caledonia, Hillcrest and Kingdom Housing Associations.

The Common Allocations Policy sets out the policy that applications are assessed against across all providers. The current Policy has been in place since 2019 and it’s time for us to undertake a review.

In general, the housing partners are happy that the Policy is working well and is ensuring that the people in the most housing need are being allocated the vacancies that become available.

This means that we are proposing only minor changes to the wording of the Policy to make things clearer and some small changes to the number of points awarded to people who are having to leave their current accommodation for different reasons.

We would appreciate your feedback on the proposed changes, or anything else related to the Common Allocations Policy
