Grow Wild 2024 volunteer monitoring record

Closes 31 Dec 2024

Opened 4 May 2024

Overview

Grow Wild 2024 biodiversity monitoring survey record sheet

Each month or so over the growing season, please complete this survey at a 'Grow Wild' site near you to help show whether the maintenance changes result in more wildlife and biodiversity compared to the mown areas nearby.  You can also comment on the overall look of the site.

On arrival at your survey site, we request that you walk through the area or sit and watch and record what you see. On this form, the same questions will be asked twice, once for the uncut grass area and once for the mowed grass area. Please fill out these questions to the best of your ability.

You can save your response and return to complete it later, but please fill in a separate survey for each month you take part.

Thanks for all your help!

Why your views matter

Monitoring the flora and fauna at our Grow Wild sites is essential in helping us understand how best to manage each area and will help us decide on maintenance regimes which are best suited for each landscape.

It is hoped that over time, many of these areas will be planted with fruit and native trees to further encourage insects and birds, while providing corridors to connect nature.
