Overview

Perth & Kinross Council as Harbour Authority proposes to make pilotage directions relating to piloting of ships on the River Tay, between Dundee and Perth.

The effect of the directions shall be to ensure the safe passage of all vessels within Perth Harbour, to preserve the safety of persons, property and the environment.

Why your views matter

To comply with the UK Pilotage Act, to ensure safe passage of shipping within the limits of Perth Harbour and estuary. Specialist marine consultants, based on the outputs of formal Navigation Risk Assessment, have deemed it necessary to ensure compulsory pilotage for certain craft sizes using the Tay Rover and Estuary. To facilitate this Perth Harbour has compiled new directions for pilotage.
